A wandering Minstrel I.. the Troubadour sings of love and chivalry. About 11.5 inches of vintage cotton print with wool blend felt applique face, features, ornate Lute, accent with antique buttons from my collection. All hand-made, hand-sewn, this was my January NFAC contest entry (its like a little group at eBay, the pieces are promotionally priced, with a kinda 'lets see what happens!' attitude - I always get a lot of 'hits' on my pages when I participate). He's on auction this week at eBay [link]

soo cute! i love it!
Another one! It's amazing how they are all so different... how long does it take you to make one? did I ask you this before? sorry if I did.. but anyway, I like him a lot! And I agree with peaxie, his instrument is so cute!
This particular one, I started around 9 o'clock on the morning of the 20th, and I think I had him finished by 10pm or 11 pm -- I had forgotten about the contest! Ordinarily when I'm making a more involved one like that I'll work on it a little over a few days so I can keep up with the others ..
Its felt pieces, the green is stitched to the red, and the yellow on top of that, then I put the 'hands' in the way as if they were holding it, and added the strings and some embroidery. 'tge sleeve' there is just a happy accident, I hadn't noticed the placement of the hand on the print kinda looked like a sleeve until I was stitching it together...
Very original! I was stunning about the application: I think it is felt but it looks so thin? Am I right?
The face, hands, and the lute are all made from layers of felt, sewn to the vintage cotton ground.
Thanks for the information =D It looks so thin.... (but great!)
he's asorable - hope you did well
